Core Group, a Peterborough based construction company, will be sponsoring the Peterborough United’s deaf football team’s website until October 2016 it can be announced today.
The website, which includes videos that have been watched and shared thousands of times, is a popular destination for local deaf football fans. The Core logo can be seen in the backdrop on most of the videos of players and managers and will be displayed on every page of the site.
Matthew Talbot, owner of the company, came along to training to meet some of the female squad and coaching team. Mr Talbot is also deaf and a student of Jack Hunt School where the training is held. He is a recipient of the Barclays Against the Odds business awards and believes passionately in deaf sports and creating opportunities for young deaf people.
Andy Palmer, volunteer coordinator of the Peterborough United Deaf Football Team’s said: “Core’s sponsorship of our project’s website provides some crucial funding to cover the costs of running the teams and it will also help get our female team get off the ground. I want to thank Matt Talbot and Core for all they’re doing to support deaf football in the city. It makes a big difference.”
